Chile extents over about 4000 km from Arica to Punta Arenas.
The very goodroads and means of transportation allow to travell comfortably and affordable on the main axis, the No5 from north to south.
Pucon is situated about 600 km south of the capital Santiago, where most travellers fly in.
From Santiago you reach Pucon within 1,5 hours directly by plane or you ride, quitely sleeping in a compfy seat, on one of the overland busses that drive overnight Santiago - Pucon. |

LAN often has cheap packages if you fly into Chile with them.
In the summermonths there are direct flights from LAN from Santiago to Pucon.
Otherwise the next airport that is reached all year round is Temuco.
Sky and Comet are only flying Santiago - Temuco.
From Temuco you head on with a airporttransfer or a public bs to Pucon. |

Who prefers to Fly in to Santiago and go on by bus can take a transfer from the Airport exit directly to the bus station where the overnight busses to Pucon leave. Even without knowledge of the spanish language easy to manage.
Most of the busses that drive directly Santiago - Pucon go overnight in about 11 hours. There are different classes (price and comfort), an example you can check at TUR Bus one of the bigger companies. Semi-Cama and Cama are compfy.
As the main road leads though the central valley, there is not much to miss on the ride, mostly plantations and industrial towns).
Anyway there are busses at day as well.
Unfortunately as foreigner tyou still can't make reservations in advance, but usually, as there are many busses you will get your ticket anyway.
Otherwise we can give you a hand, making your reservations.
Who feels more comfortable in companionship: we can organize pick up by a guide, either just to the busstation or for a sightseeing tour in Santiago. |

| The Chilean Railway Company EFE at this moment only rides so far as the town of Chillan, from there on you have to take a bus to Pucon. As the train are not very relieable and the scenic sleeping waggons from the early last century are not in use since 2 years ago, there is not much reason for using the train. |
